Legislative Update: OT Compact Bill Passed the Senate

"Legislators pulled an all-nighter on July 2- 3, voting on the budget and passing numerous backlogged bills, including the OT and PT Compact bills. After 5 years of advocating for the OT interstate compact, it has finally passed the Senate! It will head to the governor's office Monday, July 6th, and she has 14 days to sign the bills.

A big THANK YOU to Representative to Julie Rogers to extra work on the OT Compact bills with LARA to move this bill forward. Representatives Rogers and Wozniak co-sponsored the bills; please email them to express your gratitude.

Thank you, OT and OTA students, OT practitioners, and educators, for ADVOCATING over the past 5 years for the OT COMPACT during Lansing Lobby Day, MiOTA Conferences, MiOTA on the Road, and many events in between. Your voice, time, and passion make a difference. Keep standing up, speaking up, and showing up.

Thank you,
The MiOTA Advocacy Team"
